Total timing advance

Response to Small block Q series timing ( conflicting timing data from Chris Craft )
You may want to get a "timing tape", a stick on tape degreed from 0 to 360 degrees, and apply it to the damper, then set TOTAL advance. Start with maybe 30 degrees total advance, and don't worry about where it starts. You should have all the advance in by 3000 rpms. Most total advance for SBC's runs 30-34 degrees.
