web link does not work in posts

I tried to put a url in and it did not work. Just has the code for URL in front and behind the link I wanted to show up. Its in the post the new guy 58lincoln introduced himself in. here is an example:

Maybe its because I did not use http://www:

http://www.thelincolnforum.net

NEVERMIND! I guess that was it! On the forum I do not need www so I did not use it here. I thought of it when I typed it...no www so it might not work. Thanks anyways!

I posted then realized I did not have www so I edited the post and added www to the link in the guys post. Everything is good, thanks
