Well here’s one of Chris Craft’s not so better ideas. This one only ran 25 units, and although it would be a very cool boat to own, conceptually it just wasn’t what sold well against other 1970 ideas for interior layout, etc. On this design, if you wanted to go from the forward cabin to the aft cabin, you had to come out a door, up the stairs, across the deck, through another door, and down the stairs into the aft cabin. Yes, indeed, that aft cabin would be private allright, but it would also be awkward for everyday use. The marketing byline, “Finally a 35 that respects your privacy” didn’t work, and the model was soon dropped in favor of better interior layouts from Chris Craft such as Mark Weller’s double cabin, built on the same hull as this boat but with much more usable interior layout.
