Response to Re: Windshields |
| Sorry, unfortunately I did not take any photos of the windshield and the various details during dismantling, but I will take some interior photos, after reassembly, and will post them.
The whole thing is fully assembled, and does not leak any more. I built some custom corner braces, 8 in all, out of 1/4" flat aluminium stock, and bolted them in each corner. It is now stronger than it ever was, and will never come apart any more. Maybe a bit of overkill, but it works.
The side windows were also rebuilt completely. I custom built a frame out of anodised aluminium, using various sizes of flat stock, and 90 degree stock bar. I replaced the sliding glass units by a solid sheet of Lexan, drilled and bolted to the custom frame. The sliding glass was of little value due to the size of the boat. The finished product is just perfect.
The original frames for the sliding glass units were finished, and I could not find any replacement parts anyway.
Photos to come. |
