I noticed the boat will run up to the 4000 mark but when I push the throttle more forward it starts to die out a bit. Hmmmm, I'll be taking a close look at that.
The wetted area of this skiff is somewhat of a a strange one. Remember it has those lapstrakes all the way to the keel, and yes, it does have a smallish keel. Some of those lapstrakes form a sort of a lifting strake, but the other ones that are underneath just serve to make more drag, and perhaps offer a bit of a cushion. This hull was made for seakeeping, and not necessarily for speed. Regardless, I'm going to get 45-mph out of it one way or another, and I hope I don't have to install a 427 do do it, ha!
