Be careful about who you buy reman engines from. I have been burned by a couple of companies whose product turned out to be inferior. I have bought maybe 25 engines from Jasper and had 2 that had problems, so that isn't too bad I suppose, unless you get one of the bad ones. Other companies, I won't name names, can leave you high and dry. So just be careful who you choose, check their warranty, and longevity in business, etc. It is miserable to do all the work replacing an engine, and then find out it is a knocker, smoker, etc. They generally will replace the engine but not the labor. Some companies will contribute some labor cost. If you can afford it, buy new, or if time is not a problem rebuild the engine yourself or use a trusted mechanic. That is my experience for what it is worth.
