Response to A couple more dumb questions. |
| Lets see..quadrajet numbers are on the front of the body casting. If the carb/engine combo has been working well, keep them together. If all have the same model number, interchangability is ok. I get rid of the paint, but if the insides are pretty clean, this may not be an option. (I use an expensive carb dip). The choke mechanism is a Chinese puzzle. Be very careful with the metering rods and the power piston. Don't lose the check ball in the accelerator pump. The spark arrestor is useless as a filter..it only filters out rocks. Nothing will help.
Hint: Pay particular attention to the air valve spring adjustment
Oh..make sure the "well plugs" aren't leaking!!!!. |
