Jerry,
Bill is dead on with his advice. The secondary air valve adjustment requires a small flat screwdriver and an allen wrench. Don't overtighten the screws and especially the 2 long bolts at the front of the carb that attach the carb to the intake. That can warp the carb. Don't overtighten the flame arrestor nut. Snug is good. You can use a machinist straight edge to check the carb for flatness while it is apart. Primary metering rods and piston are tricky to get right. Take your time! When you get the carbs apart if you see really bad corrosion in the bottom of the bowl, that is not good, you might want to trade them in. Good luck! |
