Response to Grey Poupon Mustard |
| I use the heat wrench on occasions, but with the parts you're talking about, you're heating the tube as much as the stancion base. I suppose the expansion of both metals will cause some movement, perhaps allowing penetrating oil to get in and work more?
Here in the South, we don't do the Grey Poupon thing, it's either BBQ sauce or Jack Daniels, or both. In addition, we also subscribe to the "beer.........not just a breakfast drink anymore" theory.
I am wondering if the chrome shop has a solvent to do this job, called acid? I'm just wondering if the stainless steel is unaffected, while the placing is being eaten off, hmmm, probably not if acid will eat chrome it will probably eat stainless, but it's also an electric charge. Anyone know?
