Looking for advice on replacing rear main seal on 410 Edsel

Post by railroad_mechanic » Sun 17. Oct 2010, 08:10

I have been told that there is a neoprene rear main seal that is better than the old rope seal, and that it can be installed with a special tool without too much disassembly, maybe even with the engine still in the car by just dropping the oil pan.
can anybody advise me? Any advice would be appreciated. My email is paulsedel at comcast dot net

I wonder what brand they are. Is it home brewn stuff or does it come from one of the major manufacturers?
Best regards
