Feel free to introduce yourself. No obligation off course, but a nice way to get known to you a little. It's allways good to know your first name. Jeff or John sounds better than, "hey linc58prm2_1......"

1961 Lincoln in north GA

Post by tuneport67ss » Sun 27. Feb 2011, 15:40

Here are a couple of pictures of my Lincoln the day I got it. Not bad for a $1500 find that has brand new everything for the brakes, new carb & fuel pump, new starter, recent engine rebuild (within the last 5 years), and more new stuff everytime I work on tearing down further. I spent $40 on a coil and points and condensor and got it running. Hell even the aircondition still works on it. I was reall amazed at the condition of this car after I started taking it apart. It was an Arizona car and there is absolutely no rust anywhere in this thing and it only has 52000 original miles on the clock. I even have to original Arizona title that was issued to the guy I baught it from in 1961. Every singe piece of chrome and trim is there too. I plan to do a moderate restore on it. My plans are to make an old school cruiser out of it. I am going to paint it flat black with either a white or red top and change the interior from tan and green to all black. I know some of you purist are shaking your heads right now, but I just want to build something that my family and my self can get in on the weekends and run to the local cruise night in or even head out to the occation show. Just mainly something for me and my wife to build together and enjoy with the kids. I am letting her make all the design decisions. Feel free to give suggestions and what not. I am open to anything. Like I said earlier, I am not concerned with all original and would like to add a little performance.
