Re: JDRF Fundraiser Carshow (FREE)
Oops... I didn't see the reply to this post! The show went well again and I am hoping to make it even better this year. The tentative date for this year's event is September 18th at the same location. When I have a flyer I will post a copy this time!!! AND I have subscribed this time so I can see th...

Re: Rocker Arm Shaft Stand Height needed
Here's what I have Theo: (inches)
Overall height: 1.885
Height from head mounting surface to the bottom of the shaft bore: .755
Bore diameter: .843 (The shaft is .840 like an FE)
Pedestal width. or length (?)- the distance between the two machined surfaces: 1.176
Have a great morning!

Re: Hobbies
Love those GT-X1s! Very cool modifications, glad I don't have to pay the insurance on one...
And ChrisCraftCrazy, My dream is a triple cockpit barrel stern - Macatawa Bay Boat Works had a modified (Big Block Chevy instead of that silky inline six) that I drooled over.
Great stuff!

Re: Rocker Arm Shaft Stand Height needed
Theo, I had a pair of 390 rocker shafts I was looking at and the pedestals looked identical, same width and height but I don't have them anymore to verify the sizes. I will take a measurement of my 462 pedestals tonight and post my findings. You are about six hours ahead of me as far as time so you'...

420 horse, but how many million pound feet of torque?? Horsepower sells cars but torque wins races!
I wonder what real numbers my 462 will put out?? I need to find a local shop to dyno it...

Re: Output shaft question 66-68
You build the drivetrain to match the vehicle or its intended use. Seeing as a stock MEL makes the most torque and horsepower at a very low RPM a stock stall converter or a little higher RPM is fine. Gearing would be my concern, but a Mighty Max is so light any gear ratio would probably be okay. Als...

Re: Output shaft question 66-68
John - Just to add some more info. The C-6 is a C-6. All of the C-6's (that I am aware of) used the 31 spline output shaft - except ours (lucky us, huh?) If you are not comfortable removing the transmission and disassembling it you can have a shop replace the output shaft housing and output shaft wi...

Re: Chris Craft 430's
So, for the timing components - is there an idler assembly or is it gear-to-gear (crank to camshaft?)
If it is gear-to-gear you can't just get a regular 430 camshaft ground as the cam rotates opposite the crank in that configuration... Just wondering!

I would LOVE to see a close up of that gear drive timing set!!! Wonder if it would fit under the passenger car timing cover??

1966 C6
I have a good condition c-6 and torque converter for the 1966-68 462. I think this will also fit the early 460 engines. It was rebuilt and has less than 2000 miles on it, but I do not have any documentation to support this so I am advertising it as "good used". It has the three spline output shaft (...
