Rear main mods

Response to Rear main mod.............

Craig

These pics illustrate rear main mods required on a Shelby block. This procedure is unique to the Shelby due to the fact that at least the early rear main caps lacked sufficient oil drain-back and would increase the internal pressure on the rear main to the point of leakage. Shelby drilled two rather small holes into the rear main cap for drain-back and they were simply inadequate. I have no experience with the Pond blocks but drain-back is NOT a problem on stock FoMoCo blocks and Genesis blocks (only the Shelby and may have been corrected by now).
