What influenced Mr. Avery?

ALL:

Boat designers are a special breed and yet we really do not know where they get their ideas or what influences their design other than their god given talents.

Could these boats have influenced Mr. Avery through subliminal processes?

Hi Jerry !!

November 7 2008, 9:21 AM

Looks like you got the photobucket thing figured out ! It's fun, eh?

Dick Avery studied at the Cleveland Art Institute, and I don't think those designs have much in common with his, other than the fact that they float.

Looking at some of those carvings from antiquity and having studied many of the structures, era, and cultures, makes me so mad to see how certain cultures have, over history, defaced ALL of the faces on Greek, Roman, and Egyptian scuplture. I spent some time in Libya years ago, we visited some archilogical sites, and yes, same thing there......you would have these beautiful carvings all still intact on the ruins, but the faces would be hammered out because a certain culture thinks (or thought) it was sacreligious to have artwork with a face on it. Such a service they've done for history, and art, sheesh. What's the point?? (don't answer that)

Somehow I don't think you'll find too many people in the neighborhood who know how to set a solid lifter valve trin, or do the preload on hydraulics, happy.gif

Here's hoping you and your lovely wife both have a successful mission and return safely to the US of A, and your Commander boating plans !

I got some great photos of your project via email, and I'll upload em later today unless you beat me to it happy.gif

Regards,

Paul
