Kids On Commanders

We recently visited some friends that were on a Cruise in the Chesapeake Bay, Rock Hall, with 13 Boats. They were all from the Philadelphia or Camden NJ Area. We knew people from 5 boats but most of the kids didn't know or never met before. Most of the teens wound up on the Commander Cabin Roof, Chillin out.
My kids didn't want to go because they didn't know anyone and would be bored, we didn't see much of them from the time we hit the dock till bed time. They were either in the pool or Chillin with new friends.
Even with an Old Commander most of the Kids commented how they liked her style.

Great photo! The run over to Rock Hall is a great one! Careful going in, eh? This is what memories are made of when you are a kid on a Commander,

Mr. Schiller's boat is cool

August 7 2008, 4:36 AM

Rob, you know those kids look at Mr. Schiller as a pretty cool guy, with a special boat that is a lot of fun. That photo reminds me of the ole fashioned hay ride, where all the youngsters would get together for for a fun evening in the country. Aboard a Commander is just taking that way forward, lucky you, and lucky kids too. They may never remember the details, but they sure will remember the good times.

I agree !

August 7 2008, 5:33 AM

You know we're all kids who just grew up, well allmost anyway.

I remember some men when I was growing up who owned Corvettes or boats of one sort or another, and it made quite an impression on me when I was a kid. I thought some of those guys were pretty cool, and some of them served as a role model reference point of sorts. Of course, my Dad is one of those guys!

I can imagine those kids will remember this boat as being sixty feet long. I also agree they will be remembering the owner of the boat in very favorable terms too.

Regards, and congratulations to Rob for having this kind of fun! It doesn't get much better!

Paul
