Commander Relative Photo

I decided to take a break from the Lake and boating thing this weekend. One of my diversionary tactics was to take in a car show in downtown Delaware, Ohio. The event drew some 800 entries. Even saw a wood bodied sedan delivery vehicle with a v12 Lincoln Zepher flathead.

The car that drew my interest most was this.

I had heard all the talk of Bigdogs in Galaxy's and other Fords, but never stopped to notice until I owned a Commander

This looks like one healthy beast. The dual quads and Mickey Thompsom, M/T 427 - valve covers would sure look good on a certain "Tradition-al" Commander.

The moral of this story is with 799 other vehicles to take in the one that I studied the most was an old Ford with a boat motor in it. My name is Chris and I'm a boataholic!

Yours Truly, Chris Wade

Ford power !

Here are a couple threads from the Ford Racing History pages of the Forum. Enjoy! BTW, in 1964 I was quite enamored with the 427 powered big Galaxie. One was reported to have hit 100 mph by the time it reached the top of the tallest hill in town where the water tower was! A legend was born.

Here are a few pics from the links noted above.

BTW, this is the Ford Richard Petty drove for one season, beating the best hemi Cbrysler could put on the track, har har. Don't bring that fact up in a group of MoPaR fans if you are trying to win the "Mr. Personality Award".

Got to love those cruise in car shows! We have them here too, and yes, two weeks ago I stopped by one and was drawn directly to a 1958 Ford because it had the hood open and was featuring a big bad 352/360 ļ
Regards,
Paul
