Yes, Mr. Avery did design the Datsun 240-Z

I actually discussed Dick Avery's role in the Datsun 240Z design with him personally, and it is true. Here is a thread about Raymond Lowey, the designer of the Avanti, and also info about Dick and the 240 design. Yes, it was done while he was at Ford.
