The 1978 Lancer I am pursuing has a 350 Chevy mated to a Volvo-Penta 280 drive... rather common, I believe.
Here's the thing: It looks like any other SBC Chris Craft motor I've ever owned, in that it is the correct blue color, but the tags on the exhaust manifolds say "Marine Power Pompano Beach" not "Chris Craft Pompano Beach".
This is supposed to be original power... wHat's up with that? Did the powers that be at CC sell off engine manufacturing around this time? Or is this a re-power? Do I care? (of course I do!).
Yes, Chris Craft Marine Engines were changed over to Marine Power Engines in a attempt to market them to other boat builders. The engine division was later sold off.
