Wasn't someone looking for this boat? Looks like a real nice one. I would love to buy it but divorces are expensive.

FABULOUS BOAT !!! ---> John Kloka<--- This boat has "you" all over it !

February 21 2008, 1:02 PM

Mike,

That's a great find. I think the price seems a bit on the high side, but hey, just go buy the one down the street that is less expensive!

If it's in good shape, I would buy it in a heartbeat, if I didn't have a 38 in the water now. This is the PERFECT boat for so many occasions, especially the way many people use their boats. With twin engines, it would be a real hoot.

I love it!

Of course, I'm already boat poor, with more than I can run in a given season, and as you said, divorce is something I'm not looking forward to anytime.

Great find, thanks for the posting. I hope one of our guys here on the forum gets it. John Kloka, please take note.

regards,

Paul

Notice where it is located

Vermilion OH right down the street from Huron Ohio. Only about a 15 min drive from the Huron Boat Basin, John you should stop by and see it this summer if you come down for the meet.

Don't wait too long !

This is a rare boat.

They don't come onto the market very often.

When they do, either you're prepared to take advantage of the opportunity or you're not. That's just the way it goes with boats. Anyone out there looking, with the intent of buying, should give this one consideration. I'd love to have a fast twin like this, it would serve most of our needs. No, it would not serve as a floating cottage during the winter months, but hey, it sure would be a fun boat, especially on the river and lake system here in Tennessee.

My theory on fair trade items like this............he who negotiates too long, or waits too long, will see the vacant spot where the boat was parked. Someone will come along and pay the asking price, or cut a fair deal, and soon. That's my prediction with this one.

So........this summer, the boat could well be in Tennessee. Seriously, if I was not boat poor allready, I'd be all over this beauty.

regards,

Paul

I have seen this boat!!

February 21 2008, 3:24 PM

This boat is CLEAN!! I see it every spring at Romps Marina. Then in the summer it is over on Put-in-Bay. I would love to snatch this one up. I have always said that when I down size from my 38' I would make the owner of this boat an offer he couldn't refuse. Oh well maybe the next owner. Maybe if it does not sell we can talk him into bringing it to Huron & taking us for a ride. I bet with twins this boat is a blast.

I've seen it every summer for 20+ years!!

Every year in Put-In-Bay, I take a golf cart over to the private docks over towards Alligator Reef, psat The Crew's Nest, and ogle the resident boats. most of them have remained the same over the years, most of them Lymans... Except for this 27 open. Believe it or not, she's right down the dock from a 30 Sportsman! It usually takes me two or three beers before I can move from that spot on the island!
I've got my eye on that one, to be sure. Not quite ready to negotiate, yet. Lately I've had a bug for a nice, freshwater 23 Lancer inboard... Let me know if anyone knows of one for sale!

Detmar center cap!

February 24 2008, 4:12 PM

Paul, now I see why so much $$ for this boat... the wheel has the coveted and often missing center cap! Would you be willing to subsidize a portion of the cost of me buying the boat to get your hands on that cap??

Hi John !

I guess I'll make a center cap out of stained mahogany, but I'm going to be keeping my eyes open at the antique boat flea marketsw. YOU KNOW there are some of these caps out there SOMEWHERE !!

Hope you and yours are all doing well,

Regards,

Paul
