CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these 38' Commander brochure scans) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Chris Craft Commander Rendezvous, second year in a row on Lake Erie!! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to Beautiful ( and expensive !! )

I've got an '06 Launch 22.

Yes they are nicely finished! One pays for that finish and CC name too. Well, not that much more than comparably equipped Cobalt's & Sea Rays.

Nearly every time we've got it out on the lake, we have others come up to us on the water or at the dock making comment about how nice the boat looks. I have to admit that I like that alot.

The hulls are 20 degree deadrise and the flared bow is beautiful to look and a great a great styling point but let me tell you, if there's any chop on the lake and it's windy, that flared bow just turns the waves into sheets of water that you end up driving through. It can be wet!

Now hopefully the dirtly old 1969 31' Express I'm buying can shine up about half as nice as my Launch... It should prove to be a dryer ride.
