Response to Fusion

Installed one of these on my 24 Outrage this summer and have found it to be quite a nice piece of equipment. The only truly 100% waterproof unit available. It has a built in iPod dock and produces decent sound running 4 bose 501's without power amp. Also has Sirius Radio input feed, but uses only Fusion proprietary Sirius link.

That being said, our Commander has the following:

1) Salon and staterooms - Bose Lifestyle system with room extender modules
2) Bridge - Alpine IVA D106 hooked up to Satellite Direct TV which allows Sirius Radio and the ability to watch video. Powered by JL Audio 500 watt amp pushing sound thru JL Audio 10" sub and four JL audio 6.5" marine speakers. Sirius weather is displayed on the video monitor too.
3) Cockpit - Alpine Marine Component system consisting of head display, amp and 4 speakers + subwoofer. While not a video display it is nonetheless hooked up to the Satellite for ability to get Sirius Radio.

Unless it is evening or bad weather we typically spend the majority of our time outside, therefore having a 110v system in the salon and staterooms is our preference in that this system is both audio and video compliant.

Our flybridge is a place of refuge for me on occasion and it is nice to be able to escape up the ladder and watch a football or baseball game with surround sound. Maybe listen to a little jazz and smoke a cigar.

The cockpit is where the vast majority of our entertaining takes place, thus a separate system services this purpose well.

Overkill? Perhaps, but what the heck, we only go around once.

Terry
