Wow Joe, that's a pretty one. Now you're making me want to paint that top deck of mine, yours looks SO GOOD.
Is it an 18 or a 20-footer? The camera angle gives a forshortened view and I can't tell if it is a 20' hull. The side vents and nose hardware look identical to mine but I think she's a 18-footer. In any case, she looks sharp. Even with a repower, you can make a Buick V6 do just about anything you want, including start up when you splash the boat, lol. Actually that should be good power for a 18' boat, more is always better but the V6 is a stout one and should be fun too.
Have you run it much, what speed, how does it handle with the outdrive, etc.???
On my inboard, the shape of the hull and the mini keel I have make the boat want to continue in a straight line. As I give it more rudder it will haunch over onto the chine and I get good steering from chine to chine, but when I want to dig in and do a water ski turn, then I really need to slow down and let her dig in, because all I have is that little rudder. Your situation is a directional force from the prop, and I would suspect your boat will turn better than mine will.
