That would be good fuel economy. I could live with that kind of fuel burn.
I was at the boat show and spent some time on the Jeanaue boats. There was a 38ft with the same 13 ft beam as the commanders. This one had two nice staterooms, for and mid. It had a tender garage and also a nice aft deck. It was powered by deisels with the ISP drives. It would cruise at over 33 mph, with a top end in the 40's. All at 1.5 mpg. It even has a ski eye for pulling skiers. Incredible boat, incredible engineering.
And all for over $400,000...
I like our old CC's, with less room, great looks, and more fuel burn. Think how much gas I could buy with the $370,000 in savings!
Anyway, technology has moved on, but boating enjoyment is determined by being ON a boat, WHICHEVER boat that may be. The classics stand the test of time.
Now, I have to find one...
