Another thought is to remove the PRV all together in order to route FULL water capacity through the heat exchanger.
On the raw water cooling, this would pressurize the motor. On the closed cooling system it would only pressurize the heat exchanger system and add flow (and addl cooling), at least in theory. Since it does not add pressure to the motor itself, this may actually work and I will defer to anyone who may have done this, before anyone should try it on a pair of expensive motors. I limited time now, but I will look over my spare pair of 427 motors which are closed cooled, and see if this makes sense later.
