The wedge worked great on THIS PARTICULAR BOAT. I stress the particular boat, because it's a small runabout with a steeper angle than a cruiser. I have not had any need to grind anything off the linkage, the wedge fixed the binding issue perfectly.

I'm not sure the Edelbrock would need a wedge in a cruiser, I know Curt Hill didn't need one on his 38 SF conversion.
