United we stand !
On July 4th, 2000 when Will took this photo off New York City aboard MOONSHADOW, his awesome 1969 35' Commander, the world was at peace. It was a great day to be on the water. Little did we know, there were people out there plotting and planning to kill us. A few months later on September 11th, 2001 the world was still at peace and New York City was vibrant and fun, and there were undoubtedly some pleasure boats on the water that day too. Things changed quicky.
I was in a conference room with some associates that day, and we were working on our own twin tower project here in Nashville. We watched in horror and disbelief, as the World Trade Centers came down in a blatant attack on our country and our way of life.
Despite all the fun and joy many of us have in our lives, aboard boats, working on boats, no matter whether it is here in the USA or in Martinique, France, UK, Spain, Malta, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, and scores of other beautiful lands that access our forum here, we need to (sadly) remember that the world is a dangerous place. We have learned the hard way that even in good times vigilance is needed.
Regards to all,
Paul
