Response to References & LH or RH Rotation? |
| In a 38' Commander............................
Starboard side of the boat (Right Hand side of the boat when looking forward) is a RH motor (commonly referred to as opposite rotation). This is Clockwise rotation when viewing the flywheel looking forward.
Port side of the boat (Left Hand side of the boat when looking forward) is a LH motor (standard automotive rotation), this is Counter Clockwise when viewing the flywheel looking forward.
We don't want to get into the complexities of motors that have been reversed like the original series 283 running a tranny off the front of the motor and what it is called, yadda, since you are looking at a traditional flywheel aft installation for your SBC or BBC application in a 38' Commander.

Paul
