Response to Your non-stock cam and valve adjustment

Wes,

A reminder to check your fuel delivery to the carb first. All the above comments are great but just make sure you are getting fuel to the carb. I like to use a 6 gallon outboard tank with a primer pump bulb in the hose. Hook it up to the inlet to your fuel pump, pump it a few times to get the fuel moving. Take the boat out on the water and she if she still stumbles at 2000rpm. We are eliminating any tank, fuel pickup tube, anti- siphon valve, or hose problems by doing this.
Or temporarily install a fuel pressure gauge on the ouput side of the pump. Monitor it while underway.

If you do need a carb that Edelbrock 1409 is great. You have gone this far, just suck up and buy the new one. Easy for me to say, Huh.

Greg
