Thanks for that post. I am also a student of WW-II history. I looked over the link you posted of the WW-II subs that were lost, and it seems that Pearl Harbor, and Fremantle, Australia, were the two major locations of sub operations for the US in WW-II. I started reading thorugh some of those, and it is sobering to hear of how some of those boats met their demise. It seems there are several that were "topped off with fuel, and never hear from again".
Info like this reminds us of what the world was like a few short years ago. It is also quite remarkable, that we still have heros living among us, who were on some of those boats shown in the survived column, who returned safely home.
