James, the boat will run is saltwater. Here in France, we have very few lakes. The largest are Lake Geneva (also known as Lake Leman), which is the border with Switzerland. Otherwise, we have Lake Annecy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Annecy) or Lac du Bourget (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lac_du_Bourget). But navigation here is strictly controlled because of the pollution.
