Terry,
You explained that storm to a tee and unfortunately I got a bit of that WEATHER in my boat as well.............my 20 footer!!!!!!!!!! I was exiting metro beach channel and the sky's looked beautiful (I don't listen to the marine weather channel in my little Chris) and my wife who happened to be home early Sunday called me in a frantic state shouting uncontrollably for me to get off the water. She had just went thru that storm(or tornado) at home, trees down, power out, boats flipped over etc. and said it was coming my way. Within 10 minutes the sky went black so I put all the coal to the fire trimmed it up and beat the living hell out me and the boat trying to beat the storm to our marina and get in the building, I was about three minutes late. All hell broke loose and had to have a buddy help me dock my boat behind the Commander in pouring rain, howling wind and whitecaps in the canal, this storm left no time to react responsibly. I have NEVER seen anything like that and I hope the people who had a longer way to go to safe harbor got there without incident.
Terry, you were extremely lucky to only have the minor damage you had. That storm is something I hope not to experience again.
By the way,we are still without power at home and don't expect it until next week according to DTE Energy so we are staying on the boat the rest of the week and commuting to work from there, fortunately we had only minor damage to the house but a lot of others were not that lucky.
