Paul you have the typical damage I have seen on other flat caps are you using the rotor with the screw? It looks like it to me and it has chewed up the coil bump on the bottom of the cap. That is not good you need to check what kind of cap that is I see it is tan in color like a 221F but it does not have the internal ribbing like a 221F does. I would try to get a 221b with gasket and use it instead unless you switch to a different rotor. Sierra makes a black rotor with no screw but make sure it is a replacement for a mallory #319.
