No PVC

Response to 427 PCV valve installation ( and running implications )
On my 327 I have the hose running from the valve cover like this but there is no PVC valve. It is just a hose with an open elbow going into the valve cover terminating at the flame arrestor. At the flame arrestor it has an angled metal fitting that basically just rests against the outside. Looks original. Any thoughts? I haven't looked in the parts manual to investigate.
