Premium diesel gives about the best protection you can get in a can. It is loaded with anti-wear additives. Detergents keep soot in suspension where it can be filtered. Anti-wear additivew keep the lifters, bearings, and cams in good shape. Boil-off capability is enhanced to perform in turbos which are notorious for being hard on oil due to their 20,000 to 50,000 rpm on very hot turbo bearings. The heavy duty diesel/marine also has marine additives for protection against corrosion such as rusting of valve stems while sitting a few weeks at the dock.
