Response to Why does Bronze corrode?
It sounds like some of the fasteners, those attached to underwater gear, were eaten up due to the fact that they were not bonded to zincs. As for the isolated pieces that are only holding hardware to fiberglass, those should not corrode.

You run an electrical current through the boat, due to conditions or faulty wiring at the boat or marina or both, you can eat up a lot of good metal fast.
