Jerry,
I don't have any other vents on Bonaventure. It never has been a problem for me. The open layout of the express along with the small gap under the canvas (ok sunbrella) back drop seem to be enough. One good thing about being on a mooring is she is always facing into the wind. So the side vents are always collecting what ever breeze is blowin'. Once on board, there are so many windows and the fwd hatch, my boat cools off rather quickly, even on the hottest days; again mooring breeze. I have never had a mildew or mold problem except when I leave some hot dog rolls out there too long.
You are a bit further south so a solar vent might be nice, but I wouldn't cut a hole in the cabin top for that reason. Maybe a solar vent on the forward hatch?
