| If I can add my 2 cents. I beleive that the V-drive set up works on runabouts since it permits the motor to be moved back toward the stern, therefore creating more usable cockpit area. It eliminates the need for a motor box in the middle of your runabout. Stern-drive accomplishes the same, but we are talking about a few boats w/ V-Drive that maintain the true inboard design. On larger boats, It's a way to keep access to the motors out of the cabin. And possible weight distribution may factor in? Just my opinion.
