The hole is about 2 inches and is above the water filler inlet. I dont know why it failed like that. I was thinking of cutting some galvanized steel and using that pc7 stuff dave wrote about in a attempt to patch it. I have also thought of putting a new tank under the foward cabin lower bunk bed. I think it will hold up to 80 gal. I have a slight list to port anyway and that would even me out a bit.
