Response to Murray Chris Craft runabout?

Dave,
That boat in the picture is a mid eighties design. they were built in Florida but also in the Sport boat plant in Goshen Indiana.
I worked at the plant in 1987, it was my first real job out of college and i was so excited to be working for Chris-Craft.
To my dismay, I soon found out that I wasn't working for Chris-Craft, I was working for Murray Chris-Craft Sport boats Holdings Inc.(or some such jabble).
The company was running out of money, they were plauged with the scorpion hulls that had a nasty tendency to break down the middle and the plant was full of warranty boats getting new hulls. We were to produce a set number of boats per day regardless of the fact that the bills were not being paid and we did'nt have seats, windshields, trim, etc. . We would ship these incomplete boats to the dealers and promise to send the missing parts later!
I was not a fun experience and the company did not last very long. I have some cool stuff from then though- "I build Legends" bumper stickers, my Chris-Craft Work shirts and other little momentos.
On a lighter note , we just bought hull # FXA 38 2033R and we are trying to sell our classic woodt 1962 32ft. Constellation.

Bob
