Any Autozone can test it. Tell them it is from a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria. If you tell them its from a boat they'll probably give you a dumb look and tell you they can't test it. That starter looks the same in thier picture which will give Autozone the connection harness and specs to use. For testiing rotation shouldn't matter. It is recommended to use a Marine Rated starter, which is spark protected.
