The water intake strainers, the ones under the hull, not the ones inside the boat, are cast bronze. They ave a pipe nipple,likely 3/4 npt,cast unto the trailing end of them.
A large nut, with a seal washer is threaded onto the nipple, and tighens the outside strainer up against the hull.
There are no wood blocks, at least not on mine. This is old Chris Crafts we are talking about. That part of the hull is at least 3/4 inch thick and we are talking solid glass, none of this girlie-boy cored stuff like new boats.
They do look cool when they are shined up and polished.
