I don't think you have a BIG problem, but if the gelcoat is cracked, you do have a problem of sorts. Fiberglass can move enough to crack the brittle hard gelcoat, and still be intact and strong. However, if the gelcoat cracks, water can potentially get in and work on that crack, making it more of a crack. Therefore, I would fill it with epoxy, or more likely gelcoat to match, and wipe it flush. This may be easier said than done, but would be very easy to mask if the boat is being painted. Otherwise you'll see a glue line at the centerline of the transom, and mine acutally has some degree of "read through" here, so I don't know if it's original or whether that is just a feature of the manufacturing process. Maybe they made mine on a Monday?
