I think this is where the aquatic creature called a "boat" is starting to evolve into some sort of amphibian, and the next thing we know, they'll be walking on hard ground!

The photos make me realize how much the tide differs in various places on the globe. Those legs make all the sense in the world on the Channel. Here in the Gulf people would look at you funny if you showed up with equipment like that.
