Thanks for all the good advice. I am reconsidering some of the details of the eventual lift as a result! We will hand walk the boat and back it up to a seawall where the crane can lift the motors and genset out and into a trailer. The lifting site is taylor-made for this kind of thing.
I think the seals are leaking on the paragons so they have to come out anyway. I am sure their repair/restoration will result in a few questions to the forum and I have been following the thread on that one.
Of course, now that I have everything built and all this good advice, I found an aluminum I-beam and A-Leg frame for pulling engines at our local rental store. That might be the way to go at it is adjustable in width.
