Rebuilt ?

Response to Boat engines (response to torque)
Was any work done to those engines,or were they just cleaned up and painted and painted and painted and put together with new gaskets ? I hope he didn't pay a lot of money for it.

My first suspicion would be the passage that feeds the oil up to the heads, but there could be lots of other problems that an honest rebuild would repair.

Can one even have machine work done in Martinique ? But a pair of 390 blocks and couple of sets of pistons would get him going without too much fuss.
