Distributor cap

Response to 427 Valves and performance question
Sounds like you already got some good tips, but check that crab cap too.

Some of the old caps take on what looks like curing cracks as they get old. Check the underside of your distributor cap and see if there are any tracks leading across the surface. If so, the cap is not able to provide the required level of insulation between electrodes.
