383 Chevy

Response to unfortunate part
The 383 Chevy is a very interesting choice. I think it is a 327 or 350 with the 400 crank. I have seen those quoted with very high power ratings. Is there any inherent durability issue with that setup? Now thinking back, they probably use the 4-bolt block of the 350 for obvious reasons. The parts supply for those will never run out. It would be an interesting choice for any non-big-block needs. Should make a 31 scoot.
