We had a couple of those big motors in our family, in cars. They were quiet, powerful, and never caused us any concern. Mash the gas one time wrong, and Dad sold the car. I was about to enter my solo driving career at the time, and he thought I needed something that had less power, and took up a little smaller footprint on the road. In any case, every time I hear of one of these motors, in boats or cars, I get a warm feeling in my heart.
