Toe Rail

Thanks for all the great info on refinishing the toe rail. Mine are in pretty good shape, but have multiple coats of Sikkens on them, which has a small amount of color in it, and after numerous coats, ends up looking like light brown paint. I am planning on refinishing the toe rail on my 41' Flush Deck, this winter. The stantions are really bedded well and are difficult to remove. Did you have this same problem? If so, how did you remove them? Also, while the station bases are removed, I will have the rechromed. Any recommendations on that.
