Response to 38 Chris Craft Commander with 375-hp Cat diesels

Chris-Craft brochures list the length as 38'10". It was called the 382 Commander in 1985, and called the 392 Commander from 1986 on. It is a very nice boat with a really nice teak interior. These boats had 454 Chris-Crafts as standard and 375 hp 3208 Cats an option. Actually 3208's aren't much larger than 454's, and both had a top speed about the same - 27-28 knots. The diesels had a higher cruising speed, but I would rather have the gas engines in that boat - much more flexible. Besides, I'm not much of a fan of the 3208's.
